This is shown as the film progresses by how the principal constantly puts Bender in his category when it comes to his behavior, unlike the other students. Bender has received many threats from the principal along with insults that in five years he will be homeless or in prison. Throughout the film, the "I-It" relationship between Vernon and Bender never changes. Bender tried to find different ways to rebel against Vernon due to his position as an authority figure. Vernon went down many paths in his attempts to criticize Bender. She willingly awarded him more punishments during their arguments and even promises to fight him in the future if their paths crossed. Both of them lacked any kind of respect for each other, which evidently shows their “I-It” relationship".
