There were makeup stains on the shelves along with trash on the floor. Very often expensive costumes and personal effects were scattered here and there. A few others would stay with me after the show to help me clean up. The abundance of lost items in the locker rooms piqued my interest in creating a “Lost and Found” area. The manager told me she appreciated my dedication to keeping things clean and organized. When the awards ceremony of our Sunday show took place, I saw the same people accepting the awards again, thinking that I would not receive one. To my surprise, I received a ribbon and an invitation to be student director for the remainder of high school. For the remainder of “The Great Gatsby” and throughout our spring show “Legally Blonde,” I worked side-by-side with our director and choreographer. I was with my fellow actors from 3.30pm until sometimes 10pm. We had dinner together, talked and did homework. The experience of working as a team (similar to being in a close-knit family) gave me a sense of belonging and acceptance as I attempted to put on a spectacular production. I finally found my niche. The drama department was a place where I could be myself without feeling judged by others. For 'Legally Blonde' they used my design on billboards, t-shirts and in programmes. I was so proud of myself that my hobby, graphic design, became something worthwhile. This helped to further increase my self-esteem and
