The US Supreme Court recently legalized gay marriage, which has sparked emotions among conservatives and religious groups. Attacks on the LGBT community are nothing new. In the United States, gays and lesbians have been abused since 1978. In our society there is a term called homophobia that survives and exists on fear. Parents fear for their children growing up in this society. They don't want them to attend the same schools and public facilities. Many conservatives fear that the LGBT community is destroying and continuing to damage our moral values. Religions such as Islam and Christianity prohibit same-sex marriage, which pushes some people to provoke brutal or dangerous attacks against these people for defending their religion. Now, defending religion is because they fear God and think they have to eliminate or end this stigma to please God, otherwise God will be unhappy, so first place is the fear of God. then there is the fear of one's conscience . Now we have the LGBT community living with this fear and still living with those dangerous experiences. The fear in those people pushes them to hide their identity and feel ashamed of it
