Climate ChangeFor years to come there will always be speculation as to whether climate change has actually happened or not. Many believe that large companies have launched this topic to profit from it, just as there are those who are convinced that these are consequences that have emerged from human errors in understanding the environment. As humans struggle to trust each other, whether it's just a grand conspiracy or not or the changing environment itself, we are slowly starting to feel the effects of climate change. Due to the gases (CO2) present in the air, the atmosphere warms up, thus triggering the greenhouse effect. Almost 70% of the gases emitted into the air are CO2, which leads us to believe that this is the main cause of global warming. Since billions and billions of tons are released into the air every year, many scientists conclude that the temperature will most likely be higher in twenty years than in the near past. One thing is for sure, a large number of companies are starting to address the problems and trying to find solutions to this crisis. Many suggestions have been made to companies and some include changing to a more environmentally friendly supply chain. (Report on the carbon dioxide supply chain in a Swedish multinational, 2010). The Swedish multinational Entra has stated that there is a relationship between costs and energy supply. Because they are sometimes suppliers to their own suppliers, the environment pushes Entra and all organizations to examine how they can influence their own supply channels. BP Amoco, like many other companies, has set a goal to reduce greenhouse gases.
