The Lady and the Tiger was a never-ending story, this is annoying because it really left everyone wondering. This is probably the brilliance of the story, it forces readers to reflect on their own thoughts and find their own ending. Love has a lot to do with the story “The Lady and the Tiger”. The story entrusts the princess with the fate of her lover. The problem arose because the princess's father does not allow her to stay with him. The story takes place in a kingdom and involves the king, the princess and her lover. The princess's decision about which door to point out to her lover is assumed to have a great impact on the story, but the question of which door her lover opens remains unanswered. The princess will open the door with the lady behind, she will be able to put her jealousy and romantic emotions behind human morality. The princess will lead the gentleman towards the door with the girl behind him because it is highly immoral to kill a man because he will have to see them together. Human morality plays an important role in his decision to do so. The pain she feels at seeing her lover with his enemy will vanish. On the other hand, the pain she would feel seeing him die before her eyes would remain forever. Furthermore, the pain of reflecting on that decision to kill him would have brought her much regret. She would continue to question her morality and be hurt by the decision she made for a long time. In "The Lady or the Tiger" Stockton says "If it had not been for the part of barbarism in her nature it is probable that the lady would not have been there..." (Stockton 4). That quote is proof that even though his father was semi-barbaric, because of the half she and t... half of the paper...nd, that decision leads to him getting hit in the face by the guard. Following the blow, he falls to the ground. When he gets up it is undeniably the moment of decision. He looks up at the king and gives him a nod of respect, he also looks at the princess and quickly looks her in the eyes. The princess pointed subtly to the left. He changed his mind; the door through which he now wanted him to pass was on the left. He steps forward, accepting the princess's suggestion to go left, and places his hand on the door handle. He stops and holds his hand there for a few seconds, then opens the door and notices a beautiful girl coming out. Filled with joy, he hugs her and thanks God for letting him live. The priest and the wedding singers follow the girl closely and in the arena the two get married. The obvious culprit had in fact just been declared innocent.
