My role as a teacher is to provide children with the tools with which to cultivate their knowledge. To achieve this, it is best to teach each child's needs so that he or she can feel capable and successful. A curriculum I would use would engage children's interests and make learning relevant to life. I will incorporate themes, integrated units, projects, group work, individual work and hands-on learning to make children active learners. Finally, I will connect learning to the global community to help children become caring and active members of society. By choosing to become a teacher, I have made a commitment to myself and my future students to be the best academic, personal, and ethical role model I can be. My goal is to have a mutually enriching teaching career by keeping an open mind and continually communicating with my colleagues and students. I am ready to face the challenges of teaching in the 21st century and promise to try to provide an honest and thorough education to every student I meet.
