The evaluation process is essential to the positive development and growth of an organization's workforce, but it can also be stressful for an employee. Employee evaluations should be used by employers as a tool to measure employee development and growth in the workplace. An employee evaluation also allows for an open dialogue between an employee and their leader and should be conducted at least once a year, more often for new hires within an organization, at least ninety days after hire. In the organization where I work, employee evaluation is a three-part process. The first part is to meet with your leader at the beginning of the physical year and set the goals you want to achieve by the end of the year. Goals are set with the acronym SMART, specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound. You will then meet with your leader around the middle of the year, to see how close you are to achieving your goals and to have a conversation about the tools needed to help you achieve your goals. The last part of the evaluation process takes place at the end of the year, where you meet with your leader to see if all your goals have been achieved for the year. As an employee, you play an important role in setting specific goals for your company. work, measurable in the time it takes to achieve the goal, achievable because you set the goals, relevant to your job, and achieving the goal within the specified time is rewarded with a pay increase. I believe this process works and gives an employee the initiative to work towards their goals because; the achievement of your objectives determines the increase in your salary. During the goal-setting process, leaders need to be specific when setting goals with employees. The employee must know what is expected of him. Give… half paper… just meetings with your leader to gauge how well they think you are doing your job. You received no positive feedback and in most cases had no say in your development within the company. In conclusion, the appraisal process is a tool used by employers to measure employee development and growth within an organization. It involves goal setting, feedback, coaching, listening and honesty. The results are favorable to both the organization and the employee as they give the employee a sense of involvement in their personal development with the company. The appraisal process also motivates an employee to achieve the goals they have helped create for themselves with the reward of recognition for a job well done and in most cases a raise in pay. A good leader works with their employees to leverage their strengths and coach them on their weaknesses.
