Topic > always sees me, sees the one who sent me" (Jn 12,44-45). The meaning of “sees” in this quote has two meanings. One meaning could be the literal vision of Jesus, but it also means seeing him for who he truly is and what he represents. In the creation story, man was created from the dust of the earth and the breath of God (Gen 2.7). From this we know that God always lives in us and that he made us in his image and likeness; therefore we are all capable of showing others what it means to “see” God. Since He is not a material being, it is often difficult to put our trust in Him, but if we have faith, like Mary, He will reveal a sign to us. His most important sign was when he gave us to Jesus someone who was both human and divine. He showed his humanity and his unshakable faith when, in the Garden of Gethsemane, he prayed: "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken away from me, not as I will, but as you will" (Mt 26:39) . Jesus understood the importance of his mission to open the gates of heaven, but he also knew the pain and torture he would have to endure to complete it.
