''Leadership does not consist of degrees of technique but of character traits; it requires moral rather than athletic or intellectual effort, and imposes on both leader and followers the burden of self-control'' - quoted by Lewis H. Lapham As you embark on your journey to becoming a freshman in high school, choosing and adapting to new le people can sometimes be a very tedious task. Try to become a leader rather than a follower, and working towards this goal can play a major role in the early days of your experience. Finding yourself becoming a member of the wrong group can seriously alter your potential and lead you down the wrong path. I understand that no one wants to be that person who sticks out like a sore thumb. But it would be the best decision, otherwise it could end badly. As a former student who was always classified as a delinquent in high school, I have now been gifted with the experience and ability to talk about bad and opposite experiences and so I try to influence my fellow freshmen not to go down that path. From the first day I entered high school, I was greatly influenced by the activities I saw my fellow peers and even older students engaging in. That they didn't smoke marijuana, drink liquor, and/or even have sex overall. From that moment on all the projects I had entered high school running immediately took a turn for the worse. I intended to be elected to the dean's list and work hard to receive a high grade point average at the end of the year. As the days passed and time passed, I found myself starting to skip classes because they seemed unimportant. When I try to enter a classroom, I was always......the center of the paper......d the freedom to do anything without feeling out of place. The leadership role can also be helpful in making a positive impact on the lives of others. Like conversely, following only affects you as a person, you should adapt who you really are just to fit in. Don't migrate from hopes and dreams of becoming the next lawyer, doctor or even firefighter. Being a positive leader does nothing but positively influence the world to a better place. To conclude, reflecting on the opening quote makes me realize that I was only a follower because the things I was doing seemed interesting to me and my colleagues made it seem like fun. Since they were the most popular and I wanted to be a part of it. So I leave by saying that the wrong is sometimes sugarcoated, but it is morally up to you as an individual to look away. Be a leader in your own way and try to positively influence others.
