Topic > My goal of being a high school teacher and principal

It is important to recognize the positive aspects in yourself to move in the right direction. As a high school learning disability educator, I am able to present information in a way that students can understand by presenting real-life examples that they can relate to. I am a proactive educator with the desire and ability to help my students and school achieve success. I am very technology savvy and believe it is a relevant strength needed to be an effective educator and administrator. I am willing and able to learn new ways of presenting information in the classroom for the benefit of students. My presentation skills are exceptional due to my background in business management. I show flexibility, compassion and passion for children and teaching every day. I am a hard worker who combines professionalism with patience and classroom management skills to guide students in an organized and prepared classroom. I am interested in incorporating additional activities that will help students focus on interdisciplinary goals while they are in my classroom. I would also like to work one-on-one with different teachers who will help me gain experience and knowledge. My concerns include learning to adapt interdisciplinary lesson plan development while tailoring instruction to students' specific needs. I also worry about adapting to their behavior in modern times, the management needed to keep students focused on the task at hand sometimes seems impossible. An administrator must believe that every individual in the school - staff or student - can achieve great things, and expect nothing less. I possess the strengths necessary to be an effective administrator. I am a collaborator, who focuses on resolving documents when my staff completes their tasks and duties without ongoing supervision. When teachers and staff are truly focused on the school's mission and have made progress toward achieving it, and new teachers are satisfied with the training and support they have received, it is satisfying to announce that the outcome has been achieved. Additionally, the school should show signs of progress within the allotted time on the timeline. As administrators we must review student work only when it can compare to or replace district and school standards of achievement—it is a clear indicator of achievement. Data programs that recognize positive whole-school performance as well as individual student achievement represent the final aspect of success. It's when I can sit back and look at what I've achieved with pride and gratification and say; I made a difference!
