Topic > Advantages and Disadvantages of Power Grids - 730

The objective of the proposed research is to present a demand-side management algorithm that considers different power system disturbances in smart grids. Power system disturbances in the electrical power system may have different definitions. Voltage interruption, voltage sag, voltage surge, overvoltage and voltage distortion are power system disturbances that affect the quality of the power system and cause power mismatch. Furthermore, climate change affects the values of renewable energy which causes unstable energy production. In these states, energy consumption loads are in critical condition. To present a complete demand-side response, there may be several strategies based on smart grid standards. First, energy loads at the disturbing moment could be provided by storage devices. In this state, priority is given to loads based on maximum consumer need. Second, improve the demand-side management strategy based on heuristic smart grid algorithms. The novelty of the research is to program a demand side in smart grids in the presence of renewable energy sources such as photovoltaics and wind turbines at the time of probable disturbance of the electricity system. According to previous literature, demand-side management considers several probable disturbances in the daily energy load delivery
