Many drivers use cell phones while driving very lightly because there are no consequences for this. If drivers saw that cell phone use while driving was dangerous enough for the government to ban it, then they would stop using cell phones. Of course, not everyone will obey the law, but by banning the use of cell phones while driving, people will think twice before using cell phones while driving. While there are minimal disadvantages to banning cell phone use while driving, the benefits overall outweigh them. The main benefit is that banning the use of cell phones while driving will undoubtedly reduce the accident rate. Without the distraction of a text or phone call while driving that would limit the driver's concentration, the driver is able to direct his attention entirely to the road while minimizing the chances of a tragic accident. It is currently impossible for people to simply stop using cell phones just because the Internet recommends it. The number of fatalities caused by cell phones continues to increase at a rapid rate. Alone, it will never be enough to stop people from committing suicide. The only way to stop these accidents and deaths is to implement laws and bans that worry people
