Therefore the leader must look for ways to get the follower to agree with the organisation's views and ideologies. With this in mind, leaders must set the right example to move the employee from point A to point B. Leaders must embrace the term of being a role model and while they may feel incompetent and lack the experience of a skilled leader. They must imagine themselves as the role model to deflect the follower's perception that they are worthy of following. Followers' perception of the leader as a worthy role model is conceptually different from the standard behavior a leader may demonstrate (Organ et al., 2006). Therefore the leader must set the tone through personal example which facilitates the social learning process (Manz and Sims, 1981).
