It was mind-opening to realize how society has constructed the way we view disability as inferior. As I move through my day, I've noticed more and more how society truly embraces ableism, building the world with able-bodied people in mind. I think it is important, as a future educator, to recognize the way society views people with disabilities and help change that view. Without knowledge, non-disabled individuals will continue to show ignorance and fear towards individuals with disabilities, and the separation between the two will continue to grow.
