Topic > Singa the lion's resignation as a mascot - 666

The sudden resignation of Singa the lion has sparked much debate among Singaporeans. The resignation also results in a bombardment of vulgar accusations that once again demonstrates an increasingly angry and unpleasant society. The National Kindness Movement has existed in Singapore for over thirty years, when the mascot meant a lot, Singa has also existed since the beginning of the movement along with other mascots such as Smiley the squirrel who promotes saving. Back then, it is widely acclaimed, every child should have recognized the mascot and its campaign. The period of time when the courtesy campaign thrived and many began to view courtesy as a virtue, the heyday of the campaign. Now Singa had chosen to stop being a mascot, what should happen in the near future for the Singapore Kindness Movement? What approach should we use to encourage a more vibrant and kinder Singapore? Therefore I would like to express some opinions on the subject. Now, with the advancement of technology, we could actually face the wave of technology, the Internet and the media, to cultivate the seeds of courtesy. For example, advertising on media sites such as the Internet, television broadcasts and even on the radio. It can exist as a catchy short sentence form, a short TV series, or a hilarious talk show. It could also be put up on posters with the pledge of our mass transport provider, SMRT and SBS, or exist as comic strips in newspapers and magazines to slowly bring us to the realization that a simple act of kindness like giving up seats to those who need them in reality means a lot to them. However, the advertisement serves as a gentle reminder to our fellow Singaporeans to be consistently courteous. Therefore, to make courtesy second nature for Singapore, the seed of the cour...... middle of paper ......l relationship problem. This would ensure that everyone respects each other and thinks for others. By introducing courtesy into the workplace, other benefits beyond respect and basic courtesy can be reaped as a fruit of success. A huge sum of funds would be invested in the execution of the plan to build a polite society in Singapore, so it should take more time for this to actually get past the planning stage, let alone the execution of such a plan imposing. As the government allows this kindness campaign to be more active, we can expect to see a huge change in Singapore, a huge positive change for society to be more courteous to each other. No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. (Aesop, 2013) We must believe that whatever small gestures we do, they will make a difference in the lives of others.
