General points about my grandmother's stormsJames Hansen, a NASA physicist shows an analysis that has convinced the scientific era leading to the conclusion that climate change is not only real but also represents a danger to man and survival. This book, Hansen's first, details the last eight years of his life as a government scientist intermingling increasingly with politicians, the media, and the public. He describes how his growing concern with risk denial led him to direct involvement with government and the public. Despite disappointing interactions with politicians, censorship by the Bush administration and criticism for his persistence, Hansen has maintained his unyielding and optimistic view that humanity can avoid the most extreme consequences of climate change. However, it makes it very clear that we must act now to do so. Hansen's main purpose in writing this book is to correct the problems of global warming and the carelessness with which the government is addressing it. His story begins on his sixtieth birthday, March 29, 2001, the day he was invited to participate in the first meeting of the Vice President's Climate Task Force, which was his first step toward rectification and leaving a secure future to his grandchildren. declared the various obstacles that stand in the way of achieving the reduction of global warming, and one of these is the government's "green wash", or the disparity between their words and their actions, he also spoke of climate forcing that increases the gases responsible for global warming in the environment, or imposed disturbance of the planet's energy balance which tends to alter global temperature. But he believes that the biggest obstacle to solving global warming is the role of money in politics, where the problem in...... middle of paper ......ment should be addressed according to his views without including other scientists who may have the same point of view to better convince the government. In conclusion, Hansen has done a good job of calculating the rates of global warming emissions, solar radiation, gases trapped in the oceans, attending various meetings to illustrate his points and even coming up with some solutions that he thinks could help. the problem of global warming does not only depend on big industries and governments, it all depends on us as individuals and I believe that to save humanity and the earth we should minimize our practices of illegal burning and deforestation, following the principle of reduction, reuse and recycling. The environment, man and ecosystem depend on each other, although the author exaggerated some events and committed some flaws, the issue of global warming cannot be emphasized enough and the need to save the 'humanity.
