“Divorce in the long run weakens the bonds between parents and children. Adult children of divorce describe relationships with both their mother and father less positively on average, and are about 40 percent less likely than adults from intact marriages to say they see one parent at least several times per week” (Gallagher). This claim could be better supported if only Gallagher had included test results on teenage or younger children of divorced parents. It may also have other factors such as the outcomes of the children remaining with the mother compared to the children remaining with the father. Ultimately, regardless of the relationship status between the parents, a child will love whichever parent is most present. To any parent you show more love, compassion and concern. To anyone who proves it
