Kickball, a game originally played with inflamed and sun-dried elephant testicles, is considered by most people to be a children's play activity; However, Kickball has taught me some valuable lessons in life. “In his courageous travels, the famous explorer James Hankinsmak befriends the Nobui tribe. It is here, in this arid climate, that Hankinsmak will witness the match that will later bear his name. He wrote of a game played with inflamed, sun-dried elephant testicles in which one of the testicles was rolled from an elevated mound to a designated Mohafa (or kicker). Mohafa is allowed to call for speed and consistency of the shot, and the score is determined by the distance of the kick. The importation of Hankinsmak records to the United States has been traced back to Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine's 1981 world tour. With this information now in the hands of the Americans, the hybrid of Baseball and Hankinsmak was created, thus introducing…Kickball” (The Story of Kickball 1). Childhood is often an age of innocence. It's time to learn how to get along in a big world. It's a time when friends grow and discover who they are and who they want to be. Childhood is the foundation of our life. That's when we establish rituals and rules that can serve us throughout our lives. Sometimes these rules can be learned through simple children's play. In a small suburb, just outside Washington, D.C., the neighborhood of small homes were arranged neatly in rows. The houses were built from yard to yard in the early 1960s. Each house was a different color, but mostly the same style. Nearly all had a metal screen door with their initial proudly displayed in swirling cursive. The stamp measures from the front... to the center of the card... and. I thought I was playing, but I was actually getting an education. The funny thing is, even though we keep score, I can't remember who won or who lost. I've discovered that in life sometimes it doesn't matter who wins or loses. I learned to be kind and not hurt anyone. I was taught how to follow the rules and play honestly. I found that a manhole cover was too heavy to lift and sometimes we just had to forget about the dropped ball. I realized that it's nice to have friends by your side. Childhood was a time when I felt loved and accepted by my friends. In my youth, I learned to get along in life by playing a simple childhood game called Kickball.
