As the authors mentioned in part one, students are not expected to analyze or think critically. We cannot let our rapidly changing world and technology do the thinking for us. We are an evolved species with a brain and we are smart to allow critical thinking to disappear and allow others or technology to do it for us. We must continue to teach critical thinking so that ideas can continue to flow and so that others maintain their creativity. The authors are right that “those who want to develop an analytical mind need guidance, instruction, and practice to monitor their thinking using intellectual tools applicable to every discipline” (Elder & Paul, 2007, p. 639). We must continue to develop them so that critical thinking can continue to do so
