Topic > Case Study: Dignity for All Students Act - 772

Some students may not know what cyberbullying is and that they are hurting other students. According to my school district, which is located in Manhattan, they have an action plan that they must take once they discover that a student is being bullied. The first step they need to take is to do an analysis of the situation. This means that teachers and lecturers need to review the situation when a student has brought up the topic. The second step taken by the school concerns prevention measures. Where they can make rules and educate students on how to use technology appropriately so that cyberbullying doesn't happen. Another action plan of this school is to encourage parents to collaborate with the school. By getting parents to work together, they can create a safe environment for students. Schools can also send home leaflets on how to talk about anti-bullying, signs to look for in your children if they feel they are being bullied, how to help your children if they see or hear about someone being bullied or cyberbullied. It was also said that communication between the school and the parent of the child who has been bullied or has been bullied will continue with the school until a solution has been found
