Nairobi, a city founded between Kampala and Mombasa. Nairobi is positioned at 1° 17′ 0″ S, 36° 49′ 0″ E. It is contiguous around the east side of a place called the Rift Valley where tremors and large earthquakes are a common occurrence. It is a vast territory of approximately 696 square km in total area, or approximately 270 miles, and has a population of approximately 3,336,000 citizens. Nairobi is considered south-central Kenya and is located 140 km (87 miles) south of the equator. Nairobi is one of the largest cities in Africa, to be exact it is the 14th largest city and has the second highest population in Africa. Nairobi is a beautiful stunning city that has many places of cultural and historical interest. Nairobi is considered one of the most financially and politically safe cities in all of Africa. The blend of ethnicity, rich history and culture impacts every particular aspect of life in the city. Many of the British powers hoped that the settlers in Nairobi would build a more prevalent economic zone that would lead to the railway boom and achieve economic growth. Before the settlers came into play, it looked like the Nairobi Railway would end up using up more money than originally expected. Lord Delamere was a truculent farmer from Cheshire, England, who led the white settlement of Africa at that time. Through his techniques and style of farming he had established plantations of different types of crops, which resulted in sisal, tea, coffee and pyrethrum which led to a livestock boom which eventually led to the railway station boom. But despite all these positive factors, many negative factors resulted, including increased demand for cheap labor or slave labor.
