Investigation planThe investigation addresses the following question: to what extent was Juan Domingo Perón successful in achieving his economic goals? Perón's major economic goals included Argentina's economic independence, an increase in employment and industry growth, and a decrease in the gap between rich and poor. In order to assess the extent to which he has achieved these economic objectives, the investigation will examine the short- and long-term effects of his industrial reforms and policies, his five-year plan to industrialize Argentina and his nationalization of the economy, which they were all methods he employed to achieve his goals. This investigation will also examine the main obstacles to its success, including the reluctance of the United States and Great Britain to allow Argentina's independence, and the negative effects of Perón's five-year plan. To do this, we will consider the speech The Twenty Truths of the Justicialist Movement, which illustrates Perón's economic objectives and some of the methods he used to implement his economic policies. Perón and the Enigmas of Argentina by Robert D. Crassweller was selected to provide an explanation about the results of Perón's policies, which can be used to evaluate whether he succeeded in achieving his economic goals. Summary of the Evidence To understand why Perón had the economic goals that he did, we need to examine first the Argentine economy and then Perón's government. Before the Great Depression, Argentina depended primarily on beef and grain exports, but when other countries reduced their trade with Argentina due to the global economic recession, its economy took a hit. This resulted in the devaluation of the Argentine currency and consumer prices... by the middle of the paper... failed to reach its economic goals. Works Cited Argentina's Trade Policy.
