The atmosphere is the main difference because in high school you are in a narrow hallway full of lockers and loud young teenagers. In college you will notice the wide hallways with no lockers in sight and the young adults walking calmly in the hallways. Besides the setting, the difference in scheduling is another main reason why high school is different from college. In high school you have no say in who your teacher might be or what class you take that year. It is given to you and you have no choice but to take it. However, college is completely different. Students have the ability to create their own schedules to work around their daily lives. If a person wishes to sleep late in the afternoon, they will have the option of attending the evening course; while if a person is an early riser, he or she must choose to attend early morning classes.
