Black men are human beings just like every other human being living on this planet, equipped with brains and feelings. They know how to judge right from wrong. Black males are psychologically perfect, although many will disagree that there are no perfect things. But they are able to interact easily with other races and compose a diverse and safe community for all. Black people are often treated unpleasantly in public places even if they are not evil. People always see violence and crime when a black man appears in a public place. The presence of blacks is seen as the passage of a cyclone that destroys the environment. Speaking of his encounter with a white girl in a public place, Staples writes: “She threw back a worried look. To her, the young black man, five feet eight inches dark with a beard and flowing hair, both hands stuffed in the pockets of a bulky military jacket, seemed menacingly close. After a few more quick glances, he quickened his pace and was soon running in earnest” (Cohen 383). How on earth could anyone draw the conclusion that another being is simply from color and style of clothing?
