There are many studies that show the life advantages that same-sex schooled children have compared to co-education. Same-sex people get higher test scores, stay out of trouble and are more willing to study a wider range of subjects than pupils in coeducational schools. Researchers also say that single-sex school education can increase a person's chances of getting into a better college. Additionally, studies show that educated people of the same sex are more likely to get better grades and test scores in college. “Single-sex schools can make an important contribution, and disadvantaged children benefit the most,” said Cornelius Riordan, a sociologist at Providence College. People who are disadvantaged in their lives succeed greatly in their lives through single-sex school education. The No Child Left Behind law states that it will give disadvantaged children the chance to attend better schools and receive free tutoring. Additionally, the No Child Left Behind Act provides additional funding for schools to pay quality teachers. So with the ability to be able to go from a somewhat poor school to a more elite school and have good quality teachers, more and more people have a chance of succeeding. The No Child Left Behind initiative includes single-sex schools and other classrooms that need innovation and government funding. Does this mean that with all this money that single-sex schools get from tuition, they can now get more money from the government for their teachers and some programs so they can now focus their tuition money on other things like sports? The law also states that private schools cannot refuse admission to any student because of his or her financial situation.
