Walgreens established a pay-for-performance system to inspire employees to be more responsible and aggressive. Based on this system, employees will be evaluated and bonuses will be constructed in light of three primary critical elements, involving financial results, team member engagement and customer service. Additionally, community engagement and events are included in the evaluation criterion, which is accounted for as a percentage. Through this system, stores have participated in more than 16,000 community events, totaling more than one million volunteer hours (Walgreens, 2016). It is a win-win program that incentivizes employees to sincerely serve their customers and ultimately increases the company's profits and positive aspects
