Topic > Effects of bullying and a possible solution - 1229

Bullying, as a whole, has different effects on each of us. Everyone exposed to it suffers its physical, biological, psychological, emotional, cognitive or social effects. “The definition contains several components that identify a situation as bullying, including when harm is done, an unfair match exists, and the actions are repeated over time.” All three components are found in most if not all school environments. Over the past decade, school violence has developed rapidly and children and adolescents appear particularly vulnerable to trauma due to bullying at school (Carney). Situation A, for example: a student is homosexual and has been studying at home until this year. The student now enters a public school, he is targeted for the way he lives his life. It goes on for a long period of time and then one day it takes it a step further and the bullies are now cyberbullying this student through social media. This student has had enough, he starts by dropping out of school, then as the social media bullying continues, the student decides to cut himself, until suicide becomes the answer. The problem begins with the fact that bullying is not stopped when it is first noticed. The issue then ends with the question: Can bullying really cause such great harm? Bullying: What it can really mean brought to light, some may wonder. This “can be explained as the use of force or status to intimidate, inflict injury on, or humiliate another person who is not as strong.” The bully does what he does because sometimes he has problems too, but the only thing he doesn't understand is that what he's doing is wrong. Bullying can be done verbally, physically or socially (Alika). It's something that is done to me... middle of paper... better than ignoring it completely. Although there are many solutions that are completely different from the one proposed, this does not mean that it is the best. Bullying is never good. It can cause suicide, depression and anxiety. Bullying is a serious issue and must be addressed firmly. It happens all over the world, in every state in the United States of America, in every city and quite possibly in every school in the country. The definition of punishment is the infliction or imposition of a penalty as punishment for a crime. This is what a bully should face. Maybe not an extreme punishment like "an eye for an eye", but a punishment that fits the crime committed and makes it clear that it is wrong and cruel. Bullying is a problem that may never be completely solved, but society can definitely handle it.
