Topic > Arctic Monkeys' thrilling fifth album

It's been almost a decade since the beginning of their career, and Arctic Monkeys have aged gracefully into their image as world-weary talents with an established album "AM". For a band whose lyrics were initially full of naughty and cheeky jokes, we all wondered if Arctic Monkeys actually liked being in a band, or if they were just socially awkward and unaccustomed to fame with their hair covering them face and really baggy brown sweatshirts that looked about twice their size. At times they also seemed very doubtful of their own fame, while their last two albums seemed to be unloved but taken very seriously. Arctic Monkeys' fifth album, "AM", is undoubtedly the most exceptional album of their career. It manages to connect to all different directions: the melancholic pop of “suck it and see” and the powerful melodies of “Humbug”, with their rising energy and sense of excitement that powered their initial tracks. From this point on, Arctic Monkeys can play however they want, do whatever they want and will always be known as Arctic Monkeys and simply as Arctic Monkeys. But that's all for another time during their ridiculously optimistic future, so for now let's celebrate this album for what it is, 42 minutes of pure perfection. “AM” is so good it might as well be the greatest album of the last decade. . It's the work of a band that still continues to grow. They are learning, they are experimenting and they are perfecting. They won't look back on this album and say it was the high point of their career (as we can expect many more albums like this, or even better), but they will look back to the time when they are no longer defined by their genre. He doesn't know anymore...... middle of paper ...... the impression is that he has gone from telling stories of squalid nightlife, to more self-lacerating songs, with a sound so relevant to the topic, something in which Arctic Monkeys have always been good, sharing the talent of each of their members, to create something spectacular. "AM" goes beyond all the sweaty nightclubs and flirting that previous Arctic Monkeys albums had implied. It's clearly a change of direction for the band, instead they talk about scruffy hotel rooms, after parties and the bad decisions that can follow from there. As I said before, it's the work of a band that is growing rapidly but is still experimenting with the wonderful talents at its disposal. And so they created their own artists who can do whatever they want, because without a doubt we all definitely know “Who are Arctic Monkeys?".’’
