The plot is a success in Joseph's version. The brothers try to plot against Joseph because they despise his plan, as well as Jacob's love for his son Joseph. Furthermore, Joseph's imprisonment led him to realize his dream. The theme is that God is in control. Joseph put God first who led him to his divine purpose. The conflict in the story is that the Joseph brothers were very jealous of him. Jacob cared for Joseph more than his other sons, which made them jealous. It is ironic that even though the Joseph brothers tried to prevent him from fulfilling his divine purpose, it was still accomplished. When Joseph fulfilled his divine purpose and his brothers came to the city to get food, he treated them no differently. Joseph invited them into the city and fed his family. This is a great example of treating people fairly, regardless of how they treat others. On the other hand, both Joseph and Gilgamesh were trying to complete a task to fulfill their purpose in life. Joseph and Gilgamesh encounter people who were trying to tear their world apart. Ishtar doomed Enkindu and the Joseph brothers by selling him to an Egyptian. Neither has failed in their divine purpose, but they have gained the knowledge that it will be accomplished through a dangerous quest. An epic hero isn't about how powerful or strong a person is, but about the things they do
