The United States has come to a point where a person cannot go long without being greeted with some sort of publicity. Advertisements are everywhere, no matter how secluded a life someone may be living. They appear on most Internet web pages, appear on cell phones during applications and are attacked along the streets. It has become second nature for most people to ignore the advertising that is thrown in their faces at virtually every turn. Our country is especially full of advertisements compared to others, as it has become a multi-billion dollar industry for the country. Fueled by a materialistic state of mind, the population's desire for the latest product keeps the advertising field thriving. As a consumer in this materialistic country, I can sometimes feel overwhelmed by all the advertising that exists and is constantly thrown at me. While some of them may be cute or creative and occasionally make me smile, most of them exasperate me with their stupidity. However, when an advertisement is executed well and its quality amazes the viewer, something extraordinary can happen. People can start talking about what impressed them and word of mouth creates further publicity. Advertising is an art form that reaches millions of people at once and can influence their view not only of the product, but of the entire idea of advertising itself. It's shocking the extravagant amount of money companies are willing to pay to advertise their products. products. From spending millions of dollars per second to have a commercial air during the Super Bowl or hiring a well-known face to endorse their product, companies are willing to do whatever it takes to get their brand known. Br... in the middle of the paper... someone called "Coop's Paints" and put his slogan "Life Comes at You Fast" on the third. The paint side had a spilled paint can whose contents went to the ground and covered a car, the valet's shelter and much of the parking lot. This display of advertising made me want to get into the advertising field a little. I don't know how I feel now, but such creativity made me want to help create really cool things like that. CBS' "The Crazy Ones" also makes advertising seem like an amazing field in which to show snippets of what the creative side might look like and the stunts the show's characters have pulled. It's a whole new world in advertising life compared to when I was a child; tomorrow will surely bring even more amazing surprises from the craziest artists in the world.
