Topic > Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligence - 1227

The modern classroom has not needed to radically transform to accommodate linguistic intelligence because the traditional classroom format involves lectures and reading assignments, however the addition of discussion between teacher and student changed the concept structure of the classroom. Classrooms today have gone far beyond the linguistic dimension. The discovery of visuo-spatial intelligence has transformed the classroom little more than the linguistic one, visuo-spatial intelligence has opened the mind to the possibility of educating someone using the environment around them. Someone who is better suited to using the visual-spatial intelligence-based format learns best in a classroom that includes lectures, pictures, and puzzles (multiple intelligences). The modern classroom now includes more activities that challenge an individual's mind, such as a United States world map puzzle. With the puzzle the student is able to learn the topic in question but also look for information on his own instead of a teacher giving him information to study. Logical-mathematical intelligence also works well in a similar school environment. Those with logical-mathematical intelligence enjoy using the logical information provided to them to solve clues, puzzles and everyday situations (Multiple Intelligences). Both intelligence classroom formats can be found more often
