One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men, but no machine can do the work of one extraordinary man - Elbert Hubbard. During 1914 the progress made in this historical period of the war changed thanks to a great man who tyrannically eliminated his opponent and escaped the harsh conditions of the war. Through every trench he caused a cataclysm far more deadly than Isaac's Storm of 1900, and the investigations of 37 million individuals were abolished by his violent wrath and malevolent nature. Technology was his name and World War I was his game. Sweeping across the world he made his way into a war that impacted many lives but fell short of others. Strong evidence and considerable amounts of research have shown how technology had a major impact on the First World War. Initially, World War I brought many technical advances to the battlefield proclaiming “Out with the old, in with the new.” During this time a major influence that contributed to the 1914 war was technology. Horses, livestock, and canals were replaced with innovative machinery, and in 1916 airplanes, anti-aircraft, and submarines began seeing service on the battlefield. New weapons technology during World War I resulted in indecisive battles and more casualties. With new technology came more vilifying power and needless, merciless massacres. World War I is pivotal as it marked the introduction of many innovative types of weapons thanks to history's industrial advances, including electrical power and other advances. The First World War has been recognized as the fuel for all technical advances. Second, technology benefited both sides of the war.
