Topic > Barack Obama's Energy Policies - 516

Government Research PaperI. Energy is what makes many of the things we use today work properly. There are several ways in which energy can be identified, for example in transportation, residential and many others. Cars and other ways of getting from one place to another require gas, or at least most vehicles do. Gas was not as expensive as it was in early 2009. This is because the economy collapsed in early 2009. Energy is a very important factor in everyone's life, because without it we may not have any means of transportation .II. President Barack Obama's main goal regarding energy and its general use is to introduce a plan he had established to have a better environment. Obama has many goals to achieve. One of its energy goals is to reduce all carbon emissions. By 2050, 80% of carbon emissions should be significantly reduced. Carbon emissions, especially known as carbon dioxide, affect our environment because they negatively interfere with the quality of pure air and there would also be an increase in the greenhouse effect. Greenhouse gases greatly affect the environment because they change things like the weather or climate. Not only that, but many things, such as global temperatures, a decrease in the amount of ecosystems, can cause dangerous health problems for people. These are a lot of bad things that President Obama would like to turn into a better environment. President Obama is about to introduce new ideas such as a market-based trading system to limit the amount of carbon dioxide in the environment. It would also like to encourage the renewable use of energy.III. In 1975 a law was passed and the law was the Energy Policy and Conservation Act. This act was basically about the use of energy. It was designed to reduce the supply of foreign oil. It also helped save energy. This act consisted of many statements. One for example, that the president submit to Congress for review to initiate rationing and reduce the amount of energy consumption by presenting conservation plans so that people can implement and/or implement conservation in the United States environment.IV. Both the Energy Policy and Conservation Act and the Energy Policy Goal deal with the same idea. They both discuss and make statements about energy conservation and how to make the environment a better place.
