A cancer cell known today is a destructive living organism that duplicates itself by feeding on the energy of a corpse. Likewise, a country that promotes capitalism allows businesses to acquire wealth at the expense of consumer wealth. Ultimately, this becomes a question of morality as these corporations collect money from hardworking citizens for the purpose of greed and exploitation of the free market economy. In the film Capitalism: A love story, the filmmakers use conventions and points of view to demonstrate that capitalism in America is an evil that is best replaced with democracy. Michael Moore warns everyone that promoting capitalism will destroy the economy because of the financial sacrifices made by citizens for free enterprise, while democracy will redeem it by allowing everyone to experience the luxuries of a middle-class life. The director successfully uses interviews and archival footage to make the audience understand that allowing corporations to practice private enterprise is a sin. It also creates a feeling of satisfaction with democracy through archival footage to make it seem like a more suitable political system for everyone. For example, when interviewed the bishop and priests state that capitalism is not promoted by Christianity and they believe it is wrong because it fails to provide for everyone and goes against the Christian way. It later shows an animated clip of Jesus showing capitalism where Jesus doesn't help an injured man unless he pays "out of his own pocket." Subsequently, a company that functions in a democratic system proves successful and is an environment where everyone is counted and no one is excluded (Michael Moore, et al). The negative opinion of the bishop and priests towards......paper media......who enrich themselves by confiscating the money of the lower classes and the possibility of recovering it through democracy. In conclusion, in the In the documentary Capitalism: A Love Story, the producers suggest that the profit motive should be replaced by democracy through the use of first-person narration, recorded discussions and video footage. The message sent is to subvert the current system due to its harmful effects on society and transform it into a productive base in which everyone makes the same effort for the common good. Allowing private ownership of a business is like taking away security cameras from stores and banks. Bank robbers will be able to steal all the money leaving the banks in desperation until society agrees to do something about it. Works Cited “Capitalism: A Love Story (Full Movie).” YouTube.
