Only by treating my students this way can I expect them to treat me the same way. I believe that a classroom should be a safe zone where students can express themselves without fear of being made fun of, a place where the only “stupid question” is not asking a question. I feel that as a teacher I need to lead by example, saying that only by seeing and experiencing acceptance can my students truly accept those in their classroom who are different. I know that as I grow and learn as a teacher, my theory of education will change and grow with me. I know that the best thing I can offer when it comes to being a teacher is a willingness to learn together with my students what works best for us in our classroom, what is important to us when it comes to learning, and to change what needs to be changed to have a positive learning environment for my student. The most important thing that as a teacher I will bring with me into my classroom is an unwavering desire to help guide, model, and most importantly, foster a love of learning in my students.
