“All of Me” is one of the few songs that I liked when I first heard it. I was totally touched by the lyrics, the rhythm and the melody of the song and also by the singer's voice. It's a piano ballad sung by John Legend, dedicated to his newlywed wife Chrissy Teigen, and I think it's definitely one of the most beautiful and romantic love songs and a favorite Valentine's Day song. It can be considered as a love letter that John writes to his wife. The song describes displays of affection and shows how much he loves his wife. Even though she drives him crazy sometimes, he still loves every inch of her. Taking the good things with the bad is love at its most unconditional. In the first verse he says, “What would I do without your smart mouth?” this shows that he is speaking from his point of view and he is speaking to his wife. In fact the entire song is sung from John's position. Use the point of view device. Words like “Mine” and “I” all refer to himself. “What would I like? This verse also shows a conflict between John and his wife. She thinks she's not as perfect as John tells her. She doesn't believe it when he compliments her. I think this woman should feel very happy because there is a man who accepts her for who she is and loves every part of her with all his heart. No matter how bad she feels about herself, no matter what she's going through, this man will always be there for her. In his eyes, she is beautiful in every way. “The world is bringing you down, I'm around in every mood / You're my downfall, you're my muse / My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues / I can't stop singing, it resonates, in my head for you." It brings him down but also inspires him at the same time. He can't stop thinking about her. She means everything to him. Whatever the best and the worst, and that's really balanced
