Something everyone has is moral reasoning. Moral reasoning is our way of determining what is right and what is wrong. But moral reasoning is something that is not simply given to us, but we must develop moral reasoning. From the moment you take your first breath, to the second you take your last, you are always going through the process of developing a certainty about what is right or wrong. I think everyone receives moral reasoning based on how they are raised, where they are raised, and who they are raised by. At a young age you are more adaptable to developing moral reasoning. Lawrence Kohlberg is an American psychologist known for his theory on the stages of moral reasoning. He made a model that shows each stage that when we are little, we worry about what we will get from something, so what is right or wrong is based on what will give us more in return. Then we grow up a little and realize that, being part of society, we should live as one of society's figures. We decide what is right or wrong based on social norms. This is the conventional stage of morality, especially when we are teenagers. Then we realize that an individual is more than a figure of society, but a totally separate entity of society. We have now developed our own true moral reasons for what is right and wrong. It takes a while to really fully have a solid view of what is right and wrong without other people telling us what is right and what is wrong. Everything connects. I gained my moral reasoning by being in the world and seeing and learning new things every day. My parents play a big role in this. When I was a child, I lied. And when I would lie, I would be punished. Therefore, in my head, lying was associated with something wrong. The same goes for saying please or thank you. Every time I used my good manners, I was rewarded. So, using good manners is the right thing to do. If it wasn't for my parents maybe I would lie a lot or maybe I wouldn't have good manners, who knows! Another thing my parents did for me was take me with them when they traveled. I got to see a lot of things happening in the world when I was young and growing up. I believe there is nothing better for the mind of a growing child than subjecting him to different scenes across the country. This way I could see the rights and wrongs happening everywhere, rather than just in my hometown. Since I'm a pretty outspoken person, I've developed my rights and wrongs based on what I've seen and how I've felt about it. For example; the first gay couple I ever saw was in Florida. They kissed on the bench and at first I wondered why two men were kissing and freaked out. Then, after asking my mother what was going on,
