Egged on by other feminist women and seeking a revolution, Betty Friedan is undoubtedly the pinnacle of women advocates to date. Section 1: Social Problem Addressed by Humanitarian Betty Friedan was a women's rights activist who pushed for women's equality. Since the beginning of time, society has been predominantly patriarchal, and thus women have been stereotyped and confined because of this. In the early modern world, Chinese culture bound women's feet so that their feet would decrease in size and they would essentially become weaker human beings. She found her passion in this topic due to the repercussions of World War II, where women were highly inhibited and had very limited employment opportunities.
