Topic > Commercial Drones for Technology Assessment - 694

When we think of drones we have always associated them with dirty jobs where humans don't have to get their hands dirty. But we can actually use drones in many other places too. For example we can use drones to deliver things. Drones used for commercial purposes are called commercial drones. Commercial drones are the same as drones but are smaller in size. Commercial drones are usually controlled by the user who can set the speed and height when the drones take off. Delivery drones can handle temperatures as low as -115-122 degrees and withstand winds up to 40 miles per hour. Commercial drones are used for multiple purposes. One of their main purposes is to deliver the item. Amazon CEO currently stated that they are working on Drone delivery system which will deliver the item within half an hour after payment. Commercial drones are also used for surveillance purposes. Surveillance applications include livestock monitoring, fire mapping, pipeline security, home security, road patrol and anti-piracy. They have also been used in the making of commercial and theatrical films. So basically, we can use this technology to make the service faster. The current use of commercial drones is rather basic and only concerns use as delivery drones. This means it will deliver the items on time. Humans make mistakes or deliver the wrong package, machines don't. Machines only follow instructions and only do what they are told. Even humans get tired, machines don't. The use of drones for deliveries will certainly reduce the human workforce, which could be for better or worse. The advancement of commercial drones will help us save many lives. For example, commercial drones c...... middle of paper ......ce, Texas A&m University in Corpus Christi, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and Virginia State University. But full integration of commercial drones isn't expected until 2020. We still have a long way to go for the technology to fully work. Commercial drone technology is currently being built. The FAA is still working on how to regulate drones in the airspace. But looking at the recent developments I am quite sure that commercial drone technology will definitely be available by 2019-2020. The technology will be much more sophisticated than we know. Over time the technology will advance, it will become more personalized, so people will be able to own drones and use them for whatever they want to do. In the future, commercial drones will also be used to pesticide crops and send vaccines to rural areas to save lives.
