Esmeralda's POV – 3:30 PM I knew I would have to choose someone soon. I could feel myself getting weaker by the minute. This was one of the major drawbacks of being one of the “Living”; when your fountain of youth began to fade, it drained much of your energy. By the end of acquiring your next source, you were exhausted. Luckily, I had Destresce and Sorge to help me. “Hurry up and pick one already!” Sorge whispered in my ear, “Be patient, dear. Good things come to those who wait.” I replied. It was barely 3.30pm and the teenagers were already making the sad excuse that this city calls a shopping centre. “People will start to notice us soon,” Destresce muttered under his breath. “If you're really that worried about this, go somewhere else.” I hissed back. I didn't understand what the rush was; we had nowhere to be. I turned to the store behind us, looking at the crowd. That was then I saw her. She had a slim, athletic build and a fresh face. “I found her! I said, pointing to it. Sorge nodded in agreement. “It's perfect. How are we doing it?” Destresce asked me. I paused, thinking through the ideas. It was probably the smallest town we had been in for more than a century. “Our usual tactics would fail here.” I thought. Small towns were usually very close-knit, looking out for each other and dealing with things that didn't concern them. That's why in recent years we were jumping from city to city. A homeless or runaway child would not be missed. The bustle of the city covered our tracks, but city life tired Destresce and Sorge. That was how the three of us had ended up in the town of Lawnhill. A small town was... halfway... and needed some youth, so I'll take yours." "My youth?" she asked, skeptically. Before she could delay the process any further, I took her hand and shook it. Immediately, I felt her youth pouring into me, bringing me a surge of energy. I continued to hold on until she fell to the ground. It was worth it. ------------------------------------------------- Phee's POV -??:??In my last moments of life, I realized that I had taken my youth for granted. If I could go back in time, I would have stayed home and watched the movie with my parents. I would have forgotten by Esmeralda. Unfortunately I didn't have that power. Dying didn't hurt. There was no white light. I guess it was probably because I didn't really have a life to see , they explained to me what had happened. I had been accepted as one of the Dead.
