Technology grows every day and everyone must keep up with it, even schools. K-12 schools must keep up because if they don't, students will fall behind in the eyes of the technology world. Most schools now have computers and laptops, but that technology can't be carried around easily, but tablets can. Tablets are the new technology that schools need to introduce more to students so they can keep up with technology. They are small and can be found in any good sized bag and light up quickly for easy access. Also, now that tablets are no longer being tested and are being upgraded to better quality and easier to navigate and learn, this would be a good time for schools to invest in tablets. Students already use cell phones in class, so why not replace them with a tablet to engage them more in class work rather than the phone? Some schools have switched to the one-to-one tablet experience and are seeing great results, but school administrators continue to see it as a distraction and a costly change. This is a real fear but it is not true because with the right programs and student motivation tablets can be a great saving in many areas. Tablets are the future and schools must join the leap before they are left behind in a changing world. School administration needs to start integrating tablets into schools because it allows easy access to knowledge, everything is on one device, and it is convenient over time. Acquiring knowledge has changed over the years with the evolution of technology and the need to know everything. If someone wanted to know something or someone should look it up in a book or ask around to see if anyone knows. Nowadays someone can take out their phone and "Google it" to find...half of a sheet of paper...." Mashable. Wilson Electronics, December 30, 2010. Web.
