Why is it enjoyable to cook food and why do people do it? There once was a time when humans ate only to satisfy hunger and survive. Nowadays the brain no longer works that way. Over time people learned to cook and add more and more seasonings and condiments to their foods. Humans began to crave salty and sweet foods and began to enjoy food as a hobby rather than a survival instinct. A chef is someone who cooks for a living: he or she may be a personal chef in charge of a kitchen. The chefs are all different: they range from Mexican cuisine, healthy living to junk food. Most historians believe that chefs existed as early as the times of the ancient Romans. In Roman times people sold food and also did catering. Due to the French Revolution the idea of restaurants was introduced. Personal chefs have long worked for the rich and famous. Recently, they have been hired by families other than famous, rich and wealthy, etc. They traveled wherever their masters wanted to go. This meant that they had to undertake long journeys in unknown lands or even go to war. Once America emerged from World War II, it began to work harder and earn more money. The American wanted to have everything personal. They wanted to have personal trainers, personal party planners, and if the average person had a personal chef it would be a success. Chefs have even gained celebrity attention in recent years with their cooking skills. Many of them have TV shows, book deals, and even kitchen utensils. Many chefs have changed the way of cooking in the world such as: Julia Child, Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver and many others. The awards are presented annually to the nation's chefs. One of the most renowned awards is the James Beard Foundation. Are given only to the best chefs... middle of the paper... the average salary of a person in Virginia is 48,730. Virginia offers one of the best job fields if you want to become a chef. The human population has grown rapidly due to improvements in medicine and technology. People can now indulge themselves. People like to eat food and prepare it. Over the years, chefs began to earn more. In 2004 a chef could expect to earn an average of $34,160, and in 2010 the average rose to $44,410. The recent increase in money can also be attributed to the number of people engaged in the profession. In past years there were more chefs than now. Restaurants require a good chef who does an excellent job. With more experience it will be easier for a chef to keep his job. Even if one is fired, he still has a strong chance of being rehired since he has education and experience.
