Abraham Lincoln“Abraham Lincoln has captured the public's attention for a long time as he presented a great role model for all Americans. Even today, almost every political conversation mentions him as his achievements have spoken for him (Samuels,2012).” By way of illustration, there are thousands of books, articles, and web pages that talk about Lincoln and his extraordinary accomplishments in life. “Lincoln was born in 1809 in a small cabin located on a farm called Skining Spring Farm in Hardin County, Kentucky (Samuels,2012).” He was the sixteenth president of the United States. He grew up in a poor family on the western edge of the state of Kentucky. He taught himself, because he had to help his family work on the farm. Despite having lived a difficult and tiring childhood, he did not stop studying. At the same time the political situation was not so good, but Lincoln had an interest grown within himself. He left impressive footprints in the history of the United States. Subsequently, he was murdered in 1865 while watching a play with his wife. His death was a tragedy for all Americans, and the nation has lost a great leader whose actions speak for him. His most important achievements include the end of the Civil War, the freeing of slaves, and the creation of the United States banking system. “Lincoln's greatest achievement was ending the Civil War. The Civil War lasted nearly four years from 1861 to 1865. The war began when seven states seceded, starting with South Carolina. They established a new alliance called the Confederate States of America. After Lincoln attempted to fortify Fort Sumter in Charleston, South Carolina, the Confederate powers opened fire and the Civil War began.
