The Code of Hammurabi offers insight into the harsh and unjust lives lived by many Babylonians. Women were an object to men and the rich overwhelmed the slaves. Despite the fact that there was no legitimacy in the laws, Hammurabi's code indicates the presence of a stable family structure, a system of trade, as well as development in the medical field.
