The word plagiarism comes from a Latin word, plagiarius means kidnapper. This word begins with the verses of the Roman poet Martial who were 'kidnapped' by others. He was the first to use this word. It is defined as someone who steals, uses, expropriates the work of others as their own. In 1601, Ben Jonson translated the word into English, plagiarism to describe a literary thief. It was written and appeared in the dictionary in 1755.Dr. Bambaun classified the types of plagiarism into 5 groups: copy and paste, word change, style, metaphor and idea plagiarism (Barnbaum C).
