High School Internships When you think about graduating high school and going to college, do you ever think you'll get a job right after graduation? Yes, that may be the case for some individuals, but for more technical jobs and those that require more education, look for students who have experience with their specialization. It is important to know about the different internships offered in high schools and colleges. Browsing the web pages of Missoula hospitals I found information regarding the different types of job shadowing and volunteer work they offer. Starting from the St. Patrick Hospital webpage I found a link to the different volunteer jobs they have to offer. St. Patrick Hospital's dedicated volunteers provide support to patients, visitors and staff in a variety of areas of the hospital. Some volunteers help patients find the department they are looking for or accompany patients when they need assistance. Others work in gift shops and deliver flowers to patient rooms. Volunteers also have the opportunity to help hospital staff with various projects and events at the hospital. Students pursuing degrees in medical fields are invited to volunteer in the Emergency Department, performing administrative duties (“Volunteering” 1). From this I decided to look and see what Community Medical Center had regarding these opportunities. Volunteers are usually placed in waiting rooms or souvenir shops. Some are in the cancer resource center and others are greeters or escort people to certain areas of the hospital.
