Toyota has adopted an expansion strategy aimed at increasing the company's market share through sustainable growth. This will be done by providing safe, high-quality cars at an affordable price. As the company seeks to expand into new markets, the focus will be on maintaining an organizational culture that enables optimal efficiency in the ever-dynamic global marketplace. The different nations in which Toyota operates have different political, technological, social and cultural environments. To safeguard the overall image of the company, effective communication between the headquarters and regional offices is necessary. This is especially important in the area of quality control, as Toyota is currently grappling with safety issues affecting many of its car models. Toyota Company Structure Organizations must operate within structures that allow them to function best in their specific environments. According to theorists T. Burns and GM Stalker (1961), organizations need structures that allow them to adapt and react to changes in the environment (Mechanistic vs Organic Structures, 2009). Toyota Company's corporate structure is defined as one in which the management team and employees conduct operations and make decisions through a system of checks and balances. The new Toyota structure introduced in 2003 reduced the number of directors and introduced senior managing directors, linking management with on-site operations. This led to timely decision making that also reflected the views of on-site staff. Toyota's decision-making structure is largely management-focused, despite the fact that the company operates in a highly dynamic and uncertain global environment. Toyota's decision making process... half of the paper... and warranty systems. Developing independent manufacturing divisions in different regions would ensure better coordination within the company's global business.
