In 1988, for the first time, Terminal 1 of Changi Airport was awarded the "Best Airport" award by Airport World, OAG Worldwide and Business Traveler (UK) of the world. On 1 July 2009, Changi Airport was incorporated into the Changi Airport Group, which was part of Civil Aviation Singapore (CAAS). Two years later, following the overwhelming success of Terminal 1, Terminal 2 was discovered. Additionally, Terminal 3 serves businesses and individuals looking for higher-level facilities and services. In 2013, the airport was seen to have handled 57.3 million passengers and indicates an increase of 5% from last year's record. This made it the fifth busiest airport in the world by international passenger traffic, and in 2012 it was the second busiest in Asia. Changi's daily record was broken on 21 December 2013, the Saturday before Christmas, with 191,800 passengers passing through in 24 hours.
