1. Background Nowadays, the inclusion of character education in the educational curriculum has become a hot topic. According to The Jakarta Post (05/22/09), character building has become a missing link in the Indonesian curriculum. Which states that the Indonesian curriculum, which focuses on students passing the national exam, has forgotten the core of education; that is, educating people so that they grow physically, academically and spiritually. Ironically, Indonesia, as a country capable of creating gold medals in International Science Olympiads, is also the same country that ranks among the most corrupt countries in the world (Wisnu, 2009). The concern towards issues related to character building, especially regarding the building of honesty is greatly concerned by educators all over the world. A study of cheating in U.S. high schools reveals a stunning finding in which the “percentage of students who admit to cheating has risen to 95%” in recent years (McCabe, 2011). Another issue from China states that between 2008 and 2010, about 31 percent of articles submitted to the Journal of Zhejiang University–Science, an academic journal published by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, included "copied material" without proper citation ; a survey conducted by plagiarism screening service Cross Check (Shen, 2011). To summarize, the inclusion of character building, in this case honesty, is a crucial part in our education system. However, it is best to teach honesty at an early age as Piaget's theory stated that by the age of seven children “have the ability to apply logical reasoning” (Pinter, 2006).
