Rough Draft: Heroes 2 According to the media, heroes are sports players and celebrities, who have not all earned that title. Heroes are people unrecognized for years who keep us safe, help the unfortunate, and keep us going as a United States. Heroes are everywhere around us, some in politics, some rich and many are just your average Jo. We all have our own definition of "Hero". When I think of “hero,” I think of someone who strives to make the world a better place. Looking at the average person who doesn't have a lot of money but still works to change the country, their families and/or communities for the better. We have policies that try to change the world, but they are belittled and ridiculed for their efforts the unfortunate ones are the real heroes. “As President Obama walked in the footsteps of giants today, let us also remember the extraordinary things accomplished by countless ordinary people, whom President Obama often calls the “silent heroes” of the Americas. (Jarrett, 2013) These silent heroes are all around us, saving lives and protecting the unfortunate as much as possible from this sometimes cruel and indifferent world. Recognizing President Obama's recognition of the average Joe, take a look beyond the typical celebrities and movie stars to recognize a true hero who can be the average hard worker. The heroes are the men and women of this country who have rolled up their sleeves and laced up their work boots every day for the last fifty years to move this country forward. A hero should be characterized by his own nobility, courage, and purpose to improve the world in every way possible.
